Denise Kohls honored with ARRM Cares Award

On September 27th, Denise Kohls was presented with the Cares Award by Sue Schettle, the CEO of ARRM. ARRM (Association of Residential Resources in Minnesota) is a non-profit whose membership includes over 200 providers in the state, supporting people with disabilities in their pursuit of meaningful lives.
For 35 years, Denise has worked in many roles and in nearly every shared home at PFF. She demonstrates a particular level of care to each of the people she serves and knows each and every person well — all their likes/dislikes, unique personalities, favorite things, goals and dreams.
The award is based on three areas of criteria: professional integrity, commitment to connecting people served to support systems and creative, person-centered care.
She is innovative when it comes to keeping her people active and engaged with their housemates and out in the world. She steadily works on their personal goals and celebrates their achievements. When her people have an event to attend, she makes sure they have the opportunity to get their hair styled, shop for a new outfit and feel good about their appearance. She has arranged special trips, fun craft activities and costumed gatherings, all to offer fun and socialization to the individuals she serves.
We are so proud of Denise and all of the PFF staff, who care for the vibrant personalities we serve.
